Posted Dec 26, 1999 by Mike A (snowblind) Katsey, you mean not to mess around with Iron Maiden? How could you?
As you obviously haven't noticed Mike A is experimenting with a screen name-Cat's Squirrel. I do not condone name-changing, but... "I have the fire, I have the force! I have the power to make my evil take it's course!" And for the record, my birthday is 7-10-85.

Posted Dec 26, 1999 by Katsy a.k.a. Esti The name is KATSY, not Katsey. It seems to be a common mistake. Why are you the Cat's squirrel? I did actually realise you were another one of these people who change their name without warning just to confuse everyone. At least I gave warning with mine, but I may change it back to what it was previously, as some people seem to insist on calling me by my old name.
Ahh, according to when your birthday is, you should be in he same year at chool as I am. A question for you:are your teachers enhancing your grades to make you think you are doing better than you reallly are just to make you think that it would be a goo GCSE option? At my school, the music teacher has been trying it on since July.
ffmike:don't feel so bad, as was it what Peta said (was it Peta?): age doesn't matter!
BTW Peta: I forgive you about Shim. He really is fun if you succeed in teasing him. Thing is, I spoke to him last night and he said he is currently trying to find a photo of me when I was 6 years old. That will be terribly embarrasing, as I don't look anything like that now. I told him when I next see him, I'll give him a decent photo of me, if I can find one.......

Posted Dec 26, 1999 by Mike A (snowblind) Sorry 'bout spelling yer name wrong - tiny slipup.
The name change (quoted slightly from my homepage) was from when I was at the NIMHmuck website about a week ago, and I was reading the bit about which type of animal you could use as your character. And I was reading the bit about 'abnormal animals' and I thought "heh, I'll be a Pressed Rat And Warthog". Which is a Cream song. Then Cat's Squirrel and Toad came along in my mind. Four Until Late and Rolling & Tumbling (all Cream songs) did as well but they have no animal reference. But the Cat's Squirrel bit sounded funky. I'm experimenting with it as a screen-name for when I put up my own NIMh website (if I ever do one).
Year 9 sucks ass! In our school our Physics teacher is making us all sound like cretins. In our Sc1 virtually everyone in the class got a mark that would be expected of 9-10 year olds. And that's the school's general tactic. Make you sound thick so you work harder, get more GCSEs and get them more fame & fortune. It's abomidable!

Posted Dec 26, 1999 by Alon (aka Mr.Cynic) Yeah, I had a choice between German and CDT when I chose my options. The German teachers hassled me for ages saying I'm a definite A. I'm so glad I chose CDT .

Posted Dec 29, 1999 by Katsy a.k.a. Esti You're darn right it sucks!!! I like physics only because I'm a solar eclipse fanantic, not that we've done anything on that yet..... Chemistry is anoying, especially as we've got this Oxford uni post grad in his first job as a teacher and is so amazed that he has the power to dish out detentions that no-one can escape as he over uses it so much. And what's more, he even asked us if we think he's weird.....what answer was he expecting?!
We're going mad actually, as we apparently are supposed to be getting our option pack next week. As I said to my friend earlier, we are so gonna spite the music teacher, and prove to him the millionth year running that music is the most pointless subject ever to encounter our lives. Not everyone is into classical music, and this guy doesn't even know what club, trance, garage and stuff like that is. Plus pop music is popular music. No-one wants to know apart from the music nerds anyway.
Thing is we're all hoping the millenium bug will strike so the problem is sorted anyway. Well, for the moment....

Posted Jan 9, 2000 by 11_3082 Tysbe Perich_(ACE)_ My friends and I have been into the Guide for quite sometime now, so we were dumbfounded when we stumbled across this page. We all agree it is one of the single most amazing things there is. (honost, not searching for brownie points) We have only known about it for about 42 hours but have already become engulfed in it. I have written only one Guide entry and one journal entry, I wish I had known about H2G2 sooner. I feel as if I am a small child who is the last person on his block to get the 'hot item'. I am applying to become a sub-editor for several reasons (a) I would like to help H2G2 to become more efficient in revieving new entries. (b) To increase my own productivity, I believe that I myself would benefit from the position. (c) To brag to my fellow researchers and friends about the position. I thank you in advance for your time in reading my request and look forward to your response.

Posted Jan 9, 2000 by njan (afh) Hello there... *Sticks his hand up* I'd just like to join the long line of people waiting to be accepted (or not) as Subs... I suppose I'm going to have to put something good about myself, or I'll be thrown on the pile, amidst shouts of 'Next!'
Ok...uhh... I can spell ( ) - just about - and I have some experience of editing, having edited articles for more than one magazine... I help out the Guardian's Tennis correspondant with things, and one of the columnists for Ace Magazine (The official magazine of the LTA)... I also run a web design company in spare time*, knowledge of the workings and technicalities of which might help... Speaking of spare time, it might be worth saying that I have a lot of it...But anyway, enough shameless plugging, and onto the links...
http://www.h2g2.com/A104365 if you want an unaccepted one (as yet: It's on the pile) - I prefer this one, personally
http://www.h2g2.com/A189966 if you want an accepted one (this one was the first of its' kind, and spawned about a gig's worth of messages. ) - this one is worth a look too.
*so I know HTML and assorted cousins... whoohoo...

Posted Jan 9, 2000 by Katsy a.k.a. Esti Peeeeeetaaaaa, I've finally got round to writing a guide entry and I think it's a pretty good one. I've even submitted it for approval. Sporkulious Eglon can say so. It's http://www.h2g2.com/A239582 . Shimmy is threatening to remove it, not that he's even read it, saying that anything I write is absolute trash. Do yuo know that he's even threatened to ban me from h2g2? Can someone please support me on this and look at this entry? Please?

Posted Jan 9, 2000 by mature student Welcome to the oldest 1 per cent! It's not all bad. Theres plenty of fun watching the youngsters tripping over themselves for no good reason at all. Watching the rest of the world has a lot of advantages, it's not so easy to make a fool of yourself when you're just watching someone else do the same thing!

Posted Jan 10, 2000 by Katsy a.k.a. Esti It implies (the article) that if you have an enemy on h2g2, that's the place to dish the dirt on them, hopefully without them knowing. Mike A:are you saying you like my article? That's cool. BTW, yes, I think there should be a new thread, same subject, as this just took me 2 minutes to load up, but then again I have a slow computer anyway. 10 DAYS UNTIL MY 14TH BIRTHDAY!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!!! There's even an eclipse of the moon the next day so I really can celebrate properly! (For those of you who don't know, I'm an eclipse fanatic, especially total solar ones!!!!)

Posted Jan 11, 2000 by Alon (aka Mr.Cynic) Hi again, decided to reply not just because I'm impatient but because I've organised my guide entries lately and am becoming suspicious of that one and very cynical it has any chance of approval - yes, I'm taking about that Cynicism entry . Well, I'm here to tell of yonder Scientology entry - http://www.h2g2.com/A237890 - I'm very proud of it. I did my best to be objective and I included a lot of different opinions and did best to hold back ranting to a different entry. I did my best to make it a joint work but nobody really contributed anything but condeming comments which are more suitable for the connected entry against Scientology. Ajoined to them is the entry on Dianetics, much less full as there is little to no sound information known about it. Ok, back to sitting back and fiddling me thumbs in wait for that e-mail...
