Several "free" webspace providers, including Geocities, have clauses in their T&C to the effect that if they find a single page on your site which attempts to circumvent their pop-up mechanism, or *facilitate others to circumvent it* they will immediately delete your account and erase all data related to it without warning. That includes linking to pages which tell you how to avoid pop-ups in general.
