Posted Jan 25, 2004 by Unserene I have to say I can never hear a police car/ambulance or fire engine without saying: "He'll not sell many ice-creams going at that speed" LOL
Sadly missed.

I agree, it's always the sadest thing when comediens die, especially when they are that well liked. Even just reading that little segment with all the jokes, you can't help but laugh out loud.
I would say he's/they're at the top with cooper, milligan, seacombe, sellers, barker & corbet. I'd also have to say that Richard Curtis is up there too if you look at his influence on modern british comedy.

Posted Nov 13, 2006 by gavinorr I have for years said "He'll not sell many ice creams going at that speed" (to the eternal annoyance of my wife) and have always found it funny (sad to laugh at your own joke but there you go), but I never knew where I got it from.
I also remember laughing at recurring gags "Get out of that" and "Two old men sitting on a deck chair" (I never understood the joke until many years later someone told me the tag line, which you never heard on the T.V.)
Wonderful stuff!
