Posted Oct 24, 2002 by Vicki Virago. Pheloxi will be sadly missed. What a wonderfully written piece of work. Morcambe & Wise were childhood hero's of mine. I remember going to my granddads and watching them on TV. The majority of their work was clean and anything just a little smutty was taken one way by the children and another by the adults.
It's only when I look back now I realise I miss a lot of what was on TV in the late 70's and 80's.
Comedy now seems to be all about "how can you make the dirtiest joke without upsetting the viewers" Morcambe & Wise always new the boundaries and in my memories I don't remember them crossing it.
I really miss them.
Thank you for bringing back some fond memories.
