 Posted Aug 20, 2002 by Steve K. I grew up in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the US midwest. The climate was hot, dry summers and cold winters. We had four o'clocks growing next to the house, and they thrived year after year, with no extra watering. They were under the roofline, so the rain was multiplied a little, but there wasn't much rain in Oklahoma, famous for the "dust Bowl" of the early 20th century. Also, a common description of the seeds is "little hand grenades" ...
