 Posted Mar 3, 2009 by battiest I live in Leicestershire near the Warwickshire border; here the word is used as an adjective and a noun, so you can be a mardy devil, have a mardy, be in a mardy. I agree, it's a great word, especially in the 'mardyarse' version. It's a unique word, English just wouldn't be the same without it, in my view!
