I acquired the following mnemonic devices while studying electronics in the military:

For the metric prefixes tera, giga, mega, kilo, milli, micro, nano, and pico.

Now
For resistor color codes. Brown=0, black=1, red=2, orange=3, yellow=4, green=5, blue=6, violet=7, grey=8, white=9, tolerances are gold=+/- 5%, silver=+/- 10%, none=+/1 20%
