I was a mod in Nottingham in the 1960's. Exciting times.
I even remember wearing bell bottom jeans with black fringes and pvc fisherman's coat. Also I remember wearing long skirts with frilly shirt a la Stones, also empire line gingham dresses. Hair cathy macgowan style bob, with a black thin velvet ribbon in hair. Later cream italian trousers and hush puppies stripped t-shirt and nylon mac again a la italienne. I had a watch with stripped watch strap. Ready Steady Go was the programme to watch, fantastic it was too. I also used to get Mod Monthly (it may have been Mod Weekly). Dancing - doing The Madison, Mashed Potato, Hitchhiker etc, in long lines. Boys with paisley printed shirts. We went to the Allnighters in Nottm, folk from 'the smoke'(London), came to them Nottingham Allnighters were a legend saw millions of fantastic groups. Georgie Fame, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Spencer Davis, Yardbirds, I could go on and on. We danced to soul I mean real old soul.
