It's wrong to generalise on the skinheads that came from the mod scene. They were not all 'hard bastards' who refused to be passive. Indeed we recognise 'skinhead' now as being one of those numbskulls marching around with union jacks... but they weren't all like that. There were a lot of skinheads into northern soul and they wore Ben Shermans, Levis and Doc Martens but these didn't paint a colourful history - these were lads and girls finding their identities the same way mods and rockers did years before.
Tibetan monks have skinheads.
