A large, significant clinical trial of acupuncture

It would be well worth listening to PM from 25th September which has got an interview between Ben Goldacre and David Tredinnick MP, (non-partisan....laugh )Chairman, UK All-Party Parliamentary Group for Integrated and Complementary Healthcare.

His whole argument went like this: this study shows that acupunture is better than traditional medicine...(Edie Mair..."but the study shows that it's no better than a placebo")...la la la fingers in ears...this study shows that acupunture is better than traditional medicine...oh, and the needles were pushed in a little way and there are some theories that show that just pushing the needles in a small way still has an effect.

So, we have the chairman of a Parlimentary Group looking at complimentary medicine who either does not understand how to interpret the results of a study OR is happy to willfully misinterpret them.
