Availability of books

Does anyone know why Heinlein's books seem to be so hard to come by - in bokshops anyway?

Time was when the S-F shelves were groaning with them, along with all the other authors. Nowadays wherever I look there seem to be very few if any.

Any ideas anyone?

Probably their age. Most of his books that will ever sell have probably already sold. There's still people who might pick one up from time to time, but most people who want them already have them.

Besides, a lot of his stuff is dated. People are looking for more current stuff. The stories from the classic age of science fiction just don't feel right. Heck, we're past the starting date of many author's future histories.

That's fair comment I suppose - however for those looking to fill gaps in their collection . . .

Just ask for them at the book stores. They can get a lot of stuff that's in the warehouse. For a better deal and a collection to broswe through, try used book stores. There's also Amazon.Com, E-Bay, and Half.com. I've found some old out of print Jerry Pournelle books on Amazon.com. I haven't tried Half.COm or E-Bay for books. They may be the same or related, but my wife has been.

Best of luck.
