| Posted Nov 7, 2001 by vogonpoet (AViators at A13264670) Hey Amy, nice entry already
I totally love Heinleins books - its a shame more people dont realise how powerul scinece fiction can be in letting the authors choose their own political settings rather than having to conform to what societies we already have.. has to be said though, some of the societeies in the Heinlein novels sound very scary indeed

Posted Nov 8, 2001 by Vidmaster - A Pebble in the Pond Actually, I wrote it (as a research paper in English class) and Amy is the one editing it (at least she's supposed to be)...unfortunately we can't make the guide realize that...

Posted Jan 11, 2002 by Vidmaster - A Pebble in the Pond Actually we got it all worked out some time ago. She has the article, I'm just waiting for her to get some time to edit it, as she says there are some factual errors and such. She was also going to help with the conversion to British English.

Posted Jan 11, 2002 by Two Bit Trigger Pumping Moron Bristish English is pretty easy, as far as I can tell at any rate. Word has an option to spell check it in British. Then you sheck out the style guide to make sure the stuff is formated properly, and you're done.

Posted Jan 13, 2002 by Vidmaster - A Pebble in the Pond Except I rather disagree on principle. I'm American, my entry will be in American English. So there, <tongeout>, and so on and so forth.

Posted Jan 14, 2002 by Vidmaster - A Pebble in the Pond Thank you, Vogonpoet.
Perhaps we should start an orginization for ugly Americans who don't like British English...

Posted Jan 16, 2002 by Two Bit Trigger Pumping Moron I do. I'm a big fan.
Interesting tidbit: Heinlein mentioned Scabble in Farnham's Freehold.

Posted Jan 17, 2002 by Vidmaster - A Pebble in the Pond That's one of his books I haven't read. Although it does seem very much like a Heinleinian game.

Posted Jan 17, 2002 by Two Bit Trigger Pumping Moron It was given to me as a gift. I didn't think I'd like it. I don't much care for older science fiction.
I did a little review of it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F56374?thread=159310.
The Scrabble game was used as part of a money making scheme.

Do you think the BBC would ever let us link to our FLASH presentation on Stranger in a Strange Land? (A good book, to fulfill the house rules) Do we even have a copy of it? If not, that would be a pity.
