I was always conscious that articles about paganism could be contentious, I wanted them to be safe and factual.

Having been a pagan all of my life and now working for a wiccan magazine, I feel I can safely say that my articles are safe. If I am unsure of something, I have hundreds are fellow pagans and magic users to consult with.

Therefore, I have to say that I cannot endorse this re-write, and I would prefer people to check the original http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A627329

I have previously threatened to never submit an article to peer review again. I now promise, that I will never do so.

I love writing for h2g2 and hope that this will not result in me being thrown off the site, but when information involves magic and ritual, I really feel it should be done right or not at all.

Do not blame the editor, if someone has no experience of a subject, then to be honest, how will they be able to know which parts are absolutely important and should not be changed.

Kaz, having been a huge fan of the original piece, I cannot see any relation to that one, and to this one. Someone seems to be rewriting it, and although I have not been a sub ed for very long, that is not what I understood the job to be, if the sub ed is doing it. I suggest that you post to Crescent's page, and say that you are unhappy with the entry as it is, and discuss the changes that you want with him.
As it will go out with your name on it, then you are entitled to be happy with it.
