| Posted Jan 7, 2002 by Ravenholly See, I was right! In the unlikely chance anyone who knows me and is reading this, I was right! In Stargate SG-1 fandom, it is the accepted thing that Daniel should get whumped and angsted out. It's the way the world works. The world hurts the fanfic writers, so the fanfic writers hurt Daniel. QED.

Posted Jan 15, 2002 by Ravenholly Um... when? I'll accept Sha're, and Ke'ra, and Sarah, and Hathor... actually, I don't think I can pull off this argument. Hathor was the scary one, however, and no-one can argue with that.

Posted Aug 27, 2002 by Goddess of Purple 7s humm yes. I happen to be a Danny-whumper myself. Also an ELFer actually and I feel that a lot of fanfiction authors write h/c because it's a fantastic way to devlope character. I jsut can't imagine writing anything other then ELF if I was to write in the SeaQuest fandom. I don't write slash in SeaQuest, but I do in Buffy. Once or twice I've written NC-17 (mostly on request, one was a humor piece using vocabulary from my soils and hydrology class as erotic talk--very histerical) but most of the time I write humor pieces. I think I write slash because I can't really see Xander with any of the current women on the show. Anya and him really don't mesh in my opinion. Wow I really went off of Danny Whumping huh? Sorry 'bout that!

Posted Sep 5, 2002 by Sho (I can't be asked) Um... what's ELF?
Danny whumping is so much fun, since as a fic writer we then get to kiss him better (vicariously through Sam, Janet or Jack or all... )
And, Prophet, you really have to get this bee out of your bonnet about how much action he's getting sackwise.
It's about 3 or 4 times in 5 years.

Posted Sep 6, 2002 by Mr Prophet (General Purpose Genre Guru) Maybe it was just the episodes I happened to catch, but he does seem to get more action than the rest of the team combined (although Sam almost matches him in the angst stakes).
Anyway, I haven't had that bee in my bonnet for months; I'm more nettled about Teal'c's extramarital activity. And I'd mind that less if he hadn't been al Mister Upitty-Jealous when he found out his missus was shacked up with a new set of Jaff armour.
Apparently Crossroads would originally have included a mention that Drey'auc and Teal'c had spearated again, so I'm a little less bugged about that one now.

Posted Sep 6, 2002 by Mr Prophet (General Purpose Genre Guru) Well he can, but then I'd have to despise him.
Oh well, maybe I'll write something on this subject into my planned series of Teal'c fics. See; since he doesn't have an ancestor to go in the WWII stuff, I felt he was let down, so he gets a few fics of his own. I aim to cover Teal'c's life from childhood up to his first mission as Apophis' First Prime. Could be interesting, as an experiment if nothing else.

Posted Sep 6, 2002 by Sho (I can't be asked) that's what SG-1 ficdom needs. More Teal'c. So get scribbling.
And you don't need to despise him, he is a product of his environment. Although, what I've seen of him suggests that he does like his women to be a bit independent, he likes to have his freedom. Probably they put up with it because as a prospective mate he's got to rate an A1... well, at least as the First Prime of Apophis. As a Shol'va living and working with the Tau'ri he's not worth a second glance (unless it's from the deranged looneys at the drool place)
I'd be interested in his relationship with his father, and how he rose to be the First Prime of Apophis considering why and how his father died. I can see why Apophis chose him, but it would be interesting to see a bit more detail in there.
I'm too busy beating up on Jacob, the man I probably dislike the moste in the whole of Stargate - with the possible exception of Kinsey, or else I'd be doing Teal'c right now. (not ... oh you know what I mean)

Posted Sep 6, 2002 by Mr Prophet (General Purpose Genre Guru) Uh-huh.
So what is it that you dislike most about Jacob?
First Life - the Teal'c series - has only a rough plan as yet. First Steps will describe his childhood as an orphan on Chulak with the wrong tattoo and only vague memories of his father. First Love will take his adolescence and his relationship with Shan'auc. First Blood will look at his early years as a warrior under Bra'tac's command, and specifically the first life he took in Apophis' service. First Prime is going to be about his first mission as Apophis' right hand.
These are some way down the line of course, but meantime The Ties that Blind is pretty Teal'c heavy, and will include a lot on his father.
Oh, and in at least one other future fic, Teal'c will get some action; and I don't mean combat <nudge, nudge, wink, wink; say no more>

Posted Sep 6, 2002 by Sho (I can't be asked) Hey, Teal'c got plenty of action in my fic that you mentioned before (thanks for that, btw)
Oh, before I forget, your Fanfic entry is now being discussed a little on GW, since they're now arguing (as only they can) in a circular and neverending and their patented "I never listen to anyone else's pov ... la la la I can't hear you" manner about the origins of the word Ship. Sad or what (yes yes, I only moderate them though, I don't join in those convos)
looking forward to the First...Teal'c stuff. Tell you what though (a tip from a "pro" here) writing the... ahem... racy stuff makes me blush!

Posted Sep 8, 2002 by Sho (I can't be asked) um.... He was a horribly condescending senior USAF officer - that I could cope with. But then he was blended and he immediately started on the "oh you're so young blah blah blah" thing. Really gets on my nerves.

Posted Apr 15, 2005 by Sho (I can't be asked) Stargate fandom now has Shep-whumping too it's a lot of fun.
I've gone off fic, but if I ever go back on it, I'll check out the ELF stuff. Pity there aren't any pointy-eared ones in it though
