Me neither. Not surprising since I am an American, so the odds of being one of the six are about, lesseee, ... pretty long. It does remind me of a computer game I bought in London in 1999, "Cricket World Cup". I may be a minority of one as an American with this game. The London clerk told me that even in the early phases of the matches, the games were being re-shipped to other countries since the British cricket team was ... enough said.

Secondly, how did a game about eggs remind you of a game about rugby? What kind of rules do you Americans use?
Thirdly, who's hunting down some Dizzy games to play after reading this?

Me! Me,me,me,me,me,me,me,me, ME!!! I've just run to the site of the yolk folk to set off downloading them! I am SO impressed!!! I'd completely forgotten all about Dizzy and he was the coolest egg in the WORLD!!! And you even remembered CJ's Elephant Antics which was great too!!!
*realises her exclamation marks have gotten a bit much so calms down*
Everyone who's not played Dizzy before has so missed out and should run and find the games now, they're amazing! Course I must have last played them when I was about 9 or 10 as that's when I got rid of my Commodore 64 *sob* but I'm sure they're just as great as I remember them Especially Treasure Island Dizzy, that was the best, with his cute little explorer hat and everything!

Yup, right, silly of me to think cricket and rugby are diferent games. Not sure about the eggs, but the idea was that Americans are mystified with some British (software?) games ... but its really fun, way better than the umpteenth version of "Tomb Raider".

Rules? Like the cricket rule about five runs for hitting a ball that hits a helmet on the ground? We Americans cannot match that ... our "infield fly rule" in baseball is a poor imitation, only moderately confusing. 
Just kidding, of course, we do have cricket here and even rugby ... not that I understand either ...

No offense taken, I confuse myself regularly.  I think the (imagined?) connection was British software games rarely seen in the USA. Or not.
And I've been caught repeating an old mistake, which was politely but firmly pointed out here on H2G2 - cricket does NOT have rules, it has LAWS.

Here's an odd piece of trivia.
In the game Treasure Island Dizzy, the story stated that Dizzy had his luxury cruise onboard Blackheart the Pirate's ship prematurely ended after he was thrown overboard by Blackheart. And why was the pirate so annoyed with him? Because he had stolen his wooden peg-leg and was using it as a wicket while playing cricket on the ship's deck. So you see, in a warped and weird way this conversation does have something to do with Dizzy. Just not a lot.
How spooky!

Another connection - I get dizzy when I read cricket reports, e.g. from today's London Times on the Web:
"The Yorkshireman would have been grateful to be gifted a maiden victim as early as his third over, when Alistair Campbell walked across his wicket to leg glance, missed a straight ball and lost his middle stump."
Not sure about that thing he lost, but it made me wince ...

American football starts out weird, then it gets boring - I hope to never again watch a fullback run into the line for a total of 1.5 yards. Then do it two more times. Then punt.
Dizzy sounds great, but my backlog of untried computer toys is threatening to collapse under its own weight. A large part of this is due to one of your great UK publications, "Computer Music", which send me several applications every month on a CD in the magazine - some demos but many complete apps. A nice problem to have

Ah... Alistair Campbell. A man of many talents. Whoever he is.
I remember an old John Madden game I had for the Mega Drive/Genesis which would demand you spent about half an hour setting up your next move... thingy... and then all the players would run into each other and fall down, regardless of what you tell them to do. What fun!
Give me Dizzy anytime. Preferably scrambled.

That sounds like a pretty good sim to me. I was quarterback on a real team like that.
