Are you recruiting for new volunteers at the moment, or how do I find out if you are? Can people volunteer anyway, even if there is no official lack of any particular volunteer scheme?

So I can volunteer for one of them even if h2g2 hasn't announced any sort of 'recruitment'/'volunteers wanted' things?

You can volunteer at any time by leaving a message on the relevant 'Volunteer to be a...' page, but the Italics aren't always subscribed to them these days - they were when there was a lot more Italics, but now they only look at them when new Scouts/Gurus/Aces/whatever are needed. Once in a while a recruitment drive might be announced on the Front Page.

Hello Baryonic Being,
At the moment the only scheme that we're still actively recruiting for is the Community Artists as we're always on the lookout for people with those particular skills. We won't be recruiting Aces for a long time - we have nearly 80 of them - and have just recently recruited new Sub-editors.
