Posted Mar 18, 2007 by KewAddicted Hello,
is this slang still used? Why in the article is stated that the people who live in the Eeast of London have more time than others? Regards, Marco

Posted Jun 7, 2007 by Gloaming - Lord of the Pies i've always suspected that it was made up to anoy anyone who wasn't from london. it is still used, and is still anoying (though you get used to it)

Posted May 11, 2008 by Vestboy It is still used. I think the time time reference was a joke. As in "They have too much time on their hands so they make up complicated slang rather than do something constructive."

Posted Jul 11, 2009 by U14066016 It sure is me old china. Not just in London but down the 'Thames corridor' east of the capital to the north of the river (Essex). it's not meant to disguise anything these days though, it's just used as second nature and/or for a laugh. Particular favourites of mine are the ones that are related in some way to the person whose name is used in the slang ie : Jimmy Saville = Travel. In the 80's this man used to be on TV alot advertising train travel as well as car seatbelt ads. Or,relevant of late, Merchant Banker = Wanker. people who don't normally use it are advised not to use it with people that ain't already used it in the conversation. if you do you might come across as a right knob. yeah, we do have a bit more time than some, as the old saying goes: 'only fools and horses work'.
