London cabs are far preferable to the New York model. In New York the cabs do not stop, even if you throw yourself under them. Masochists of all nations gather annually to experience this wondrous gift. It has been suggested that all cabdrivers are in fact aliens, but this is not true. As bad as their driving is, there is something about the human "touch" on the road that is unmistakable.
