This kind of thing is discussed on usenet in alt.shenanigans if anyone's interested. They get some good ideas in there and will discuss any practical joke which doesn't cause any actual harm to anyone or anything.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Yeah I've been there, it's pretty good. Unfortunatly most other prank sites just copy and paste the stuff from there instead of doing any actual work.
