A relatively minor update of A490349, to include Humph's death, the new guest hosts, a few typos, and a lot of links

Posted Jul 3, 2009 by lanzababy - Pirate - Scout - adrift on life's ocean:Happy 2010 to All Lovely thanks Danny - one of the best things on R4 imo. I'm glad to see it reviving after Humph's death. I recommend everyone get tickets to watch it being recorded.
Could you squeeze in a sentence about their audience display board?
(actually a piece of old cardboard in reality)

Posted Jul 3, 2009 by lanzababy - Pirate - Scout - adrift on life's ocean:Happy 2010 to All I originally wrote 'laser display board', but changed it as I thought my memory was flawed. It always gets a huge laugh, when they use it.

Posted Jul 3, 2009 by Icy North This is very well written. It's almost impossible to do justice to this show. It's very, very British, and the comedy is at times side-splitting. I used to play some of the tapes in the car, but had to keep pulling over into a lay-by at times. I have happy memories trying to explain Mornington Crescent to a group of Dutch colleagues.
A couple of points:
No mention of Mrs Trellis?
I've got a tape of the pilot show (1972? - must check). Interestingly, it featured the other Goodie, Bill Oddie. They did a commemorative show after 25 years, I think, with contributions from famous fans and their favourite games. Again I'll see if I've still got the tape.
<Each episode begins with the host giving a brief description of the city in which the episode is being recorded.> This wasn't always the case. I can't remember how long it has happened, though - maybe the last 10-15 years, maybe?
The Calypso song used to be called Blues, Calypso, Madrigal. I haven't heard any other formats used.
Finally, the BBC runs a messageboard for fans - certainly worth a plug. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio4/F2766775

Confusing commas. Either use a semi-colon after Dalmatian or a dash after Krakatoa.
