IN THE FIFTIES AS A YOUNG TEENAGER I USED TO GO WITH MY PAL AND LOOK AT THE NIGHT SKY WITH HOME MADE TELESCOPE.THERE WAS NO LIGHT POLLUTION IN THE YOKSHIRE DAYS, AND WE WERE USED TO SEEING MOST NIGHT SKY EVENTS. ONE NIGHT THERE WAS AN EXTRAORDINARY FLASH CAUSED BY THE BIGGEST AND BRIGHTEST SHOOTING STAR I HAD EVER SEEN. THEN A FEW MOMENTS LATER WHAT LOOKED LIKE A LARGE STAR CAME TO THE AREA WHERE THE BIG FLASH OCCURRED.IT SEEMED TO HOVER FOR A BIT, THEN MOVED AWAY QUIT QUICKLY, CHANGING COURSE BY 90 DEGREES,AND THEN SHOOTING OFF AT VERY HIGH SPEED. I FELT THEN AND STILL DO THAT IT WAS A U.F.O. COMING TO INVESTIGATE... IT WAS ON THE MOOR TOP AND PEACEFULL. AND AT NO TIME WAS ANY SOUND EMITTED.....COMMENTS PLEASE.
