Is emo in anyway related to goth? Because out of the 102 emo's that go to my school, most would say it is. But I don't, and this almost confirms it. I need a back up.

This is just my gut reaction (being neither a "true" goth nor anything emo), but I am sure that goth and emo are *not* the same thing, not even close.

While goth (or gothish) is about enjoying yourself (if in "darker ways"), emo is just about whining and parents that did not give you enough presents. winkeye

This is *not* an "emo" - this is an emu, if you spot the difference.

This, however, is an "emo".

"Emo" is a term used for a special kind of rock music, and by extension, emo is also used for the kids who like this kind of music. Those in favor of this kind of music will say that emo (shortened for "emotion(al)") is about sensitive youngsters who sing about their problems of disrupted families, loneliness and being misunderstood. Those who are not in favor of such music will say that emo is about teenagers who just whine about being teenagers. "Baah, go cry, emo kid," is what they would like to say to them:

You can have them problems without listening to emo shote. Most say "OMG Gerard is so hot I could die" or "wouldn't it be funny if we all hung ourselves" or "I HATE MY PARENTS (for no apparent reason)"
Yeah, thats all great.
I find it annoying that all self harmers (not me I must point out) get connected to emo, rather than why they actually do it.

It's you. He's a kitten who's pressed against the wall and has his paws curled beneath him, making it /look/ like he's been cut in half.
