My recipe is similar but a little less grandiose and serves 2-3 people:

400 grams of minced beef (preferably lean steak mince)
1 tin of plum tomatoes (chopped or whole)
10 Medium size mushrooms
1 Oxo cube
1 Medium onion
2-3 cloves of garlic
1 small tin of tomato pasteOregano

Directions:

1. Slice the mushrooms, dice the onion and thinly chop the garlic
2. Start frying the mince in a little oil and add the mushrooms, garlic and onion
3. Fry until meat is brown, stirring as necessary
4. Drain any excess fat
5. Add the tomatoes, paste, oxo cube to the pan and mix together. If you use whole tinned tomatoes, break them in the pan.
6. Throw in a good sized pinch of oregano
7. Simmer for 20 minutes stirring ocassionally

Optionally add a dash of olive oil and red wine at stage 5 for added flavour.

Serve with spaghetti.
This makes a truly excellent and quick sauce.
