 Posted Oct 1, 2002 by Grimmelshausen In Liz Linahan's book about the folklore of the mining areas of South Yorkshire, Pit Ghosts Padfeet and Poltergeists, she has at least one story of a "good" Padfoot, that led someone home (?when they were lost?)
I have often wondered whether the Padfoot legend and the Black Cats and various Pumas, beasts of Bodmin etc are all manifestations of the same thing.
But it's impossible to contemplate a whole species of unknown animals lurking in the deepest wildest recesses of the English countryside, - isn't it? .....
