 Posted Sep 22, 2000 by Lucinda (et al) - Dun Researchin' Don't forget Chinese New Year - there is a belief that to be in debt over Chinese New Year spells disaster - because of this, many merchants in Hong Kong, etc, are desperately trying to shift stock to get themselves back in the black. So while there are some elevated prices for the festivities, there are also some great bargains to be had....
Sadly, this is happenning less and less as the world becomes more Americanised...
