After the sentence beginning, 'Although the largest town in Wiltshire is Swindon....' please could you add,
The town of Malmesbury (population about 6000)in the north-west of the county is one of the oldest continuously inhabited sites in Britain. It is the seat of a famous Benedictine monastery, which was founded in the 7th Century; and was a prosperous wool town in the Middle Ages.
