Lucky me has a big summerhouse in Barga! Any Researcers planning a trip to Italy are welcome to contact me - hopefully, next time I go I'll have somebody who'll weep of happiness together with me as we climb the winding roads up towards the town! biggrin

Hi there!

I was amazed to see the name Barga! I've got a little place there for the summer, too. Mine's a 500-year old former wine cellar and artist's studio in the old town. It's a lovely place isn't it???

Hello Researcher 227770, maybe you will be even more amazed to find that I have not just been in Barga but actually sat in your place when it was an artist's studio ... here is an image of that artist; Mario Madiai with his daughter Giorgia, (also an artist/photographer)
http://www.barganews.com/Resources/madiai.jpg

Barga is an amazing place with a growing community of international artists now taking up residence and working there.

The best place to check out what is going on is on the barganews.com site; http://www.barganews.com/

ciao

I'll take you up on your generous invitation to contact you. My wife and I are planning a trip to Italy in the fall. We plan to spend a week in the Garfagnana and would appreciate any tips you have about the area. We are looking for a small, one bedroom or studio apartment to rent tht is not too expensive near Barga. We would appreciate any information you can give us. thank you very much.

I thought it was my little secret. Barga, I mean. I really don't want anyone else to know about it, so let's officially declare it disappeared.
