Hi there
I’m not a Scout but I am subscribed to the EG Writing Workshop and I’d like to draw to the Scouts attention something that has occurred in that forum just now.
New Writer U13402970 submitted a piece A41735964 (Chess) for consideration and assistance. Unfortunately he hadn‘t realised that it had already been done. That must have been a bit of a dampener for someone putting forward his first effort. Otherwise he did everything right and his effort on Chess wasn’t half bad for a start.
I feel that at the moment, more than anything else, H2 needs writers of this researchers potential. A word of encouragement from one or two official scouts might make that difference whether he tries again, or not. So, a plea for one or two of you to pass by his space and give a word of encouragement to try again.

I saw that one Deke, and am just in the process of writing up a response along the lines of suggesting to the author to write something else about chess, perhaps some interesting game plays or the like, to go alongside the Entry about chess 
And for my  , I agree with you
