Posted 4 Weeks Ago by Gnomon Don't worry about it too much. Roughly one tenth of the children in my daughter's school have already had it without any really bad effects.

Posted 4 Weeks Ago by BeowulfShaffer Thats horrible. But keep in mind that mortality rates aren't much worse than normal flu. I'm guesing that you already knew, but if you didn't and I didn't tell you I'd feel pretty bad. Try not to catch it yourself.

Harrison was so premature he has an immature immune system so he's seriously ill.
They're in Sheffield, so I can't do anything, even if I wanted to. I'm needed here. All I can do is worry

thanks Bel and everyone for your good wishes and sympathy. The poor mite can't even have Tamiflu, because the side effects would be awful, apparently. Jenny's not making much sense. I'd be going insane with worry if I were her.

Posted 4 Weeks Ago by Galaxy Babe - December's BATS @ A60113837 I just found out about DQ's Mum and hugs and and and go a long way, it's all about support, DQ appreciated it after her Mum's accident and it DOES help. Just knowing there's someone there who understands, is listening, and offering support, means the difference between keeping going and cracking up. I know this for a fact and that's the backbone of h2g2, the people who rally round in times of crisis, as Pierce just said in DQ's journal, there's been too much dying this year, he's right, but the ones who are left appreciate the support of our friends here. You don't have to say anything, if you can't find the words, smileys announce your presence

Posted 4 Weeks Ago by Marķa del Mar My father, 84, has had it recently. I was worried too because he had a heart stroke last April, he suffers from diabetes too, and his mood was /is sad due to other circunstance. Sadness, depression can weak our inmune system.
I was worried, but also I felt in hope thinking that doctors could manage the situation. They did.
Try to think positively.

Posted 4 Weeks Ago by h5ringer - The Maestro Cat As I understand it, swine flu is not a major problem unless there are serious underlying medical issues. T'e 'ittle un'll see this off I'm sure

Posted 4 Weeks Ago by Galaxy Babe - December's BATS @ A60113837 Thanks everyone I'll update as soon as I have any news,
It's really amazing, yesterday I got a box of flowers from someone who found me here (at my Dad's funeral report) who connected us via my mother (I'm their second cousin). They had no photos of their grandad, who was my grandma's brother. I didn't either, but I had lots of Ella (my Gran, their Mum's auntie) as a young woman and I sent a copy of the earliest I had, also a close-up pic of her and my grandad at a wedding around 1930/40. Long story shortened, but their elderly Mum who'd never seen a photo of her Dad, (he died in WWI), recognised the family likeness, and so they sent me flowers. What a coincidence, eh? But it made my day.
