Actually many people have fiberglass pieces (sp?) on thier hardshoes. So many in fact that I have never seen wooden parts. But maybe it's just an American thing.

I'm an irish dancer and I've never seen wooden pieces on the shoes. I have fiberglass. You can also have metal, but wood? I was surprised when I saw it said wood.

I never even realised that they made hardshoes with metal peices on them.
