Requiem

For anyone wanting to read a gorgeously drawn/painted Silver Surfer comic that is out of continuity and is thus a story itself you have to get yourself a hardback or TPB (trade paperback) of Silver Surfer: Requiem.

It deals with, in four issues, Radd coming to Earth to seek the assistance of Mr. Fantastic. With his help the Surfer realises his Power Cosmic is at its last ebb and in these philosophically peaceful, wonderous issues we see an imagined future. I couldn't recommend it more on the basis of the artwork alone.

And the story is pretty good too.

Especially the Spider-Man bit (although I'm biased). I have it in the original four issues and enjoy reading them over and over ok

So, I endorse that recommendation fully surfer

Are you reading In Thy Name at the minute? After what Straczynski did I wasn't prepared to be bettered and missed the first issue until I saw a riveting review for the second that made me pick up both. It doesn't look to be as good as Requiem and Radd's dialogue is more vernacular, less ethereal, but still ruddy good stuff.
