Fox is an unusual name. Anyone know why this was chosen for this character?

Surely, it couldn't be because he is curious, sly and mistrusting...?

I think it was chosen because he's such a "fox"! (As in sexy!)

Fox William Mulder...
If I remember correctly from one of Chris Carter's earlier interviews,
the name Fox was borrowed from Mr.Carter's childhood friend and the surname Mulder, is the maiden name (or was it middle name?) of Mr. Cater's mum. smiley
