| Posted 4 Hours Ago by Kelli - 61/61 pre-t'Other weight reached. 27/28 to pre-t'Boy weight I have one sprout a year, on christmas day - although I've just remembered that there should be some at the allotment, haven't been there for such a long time that I have no idea if they survived. Must try to go and look tomorrow. If we have grown our own then I might agree to try a couple of those. I like them done with bacon and chestnuts...although basically what I am saying is that I like bacon and chestnuts and will tolerate the presence of my annual sprout if it is nestling amongst them.
Got all the missing components of the two outfit choices today so will know if I am going with the red or the purple dress tomorrow when the red comes back from the tailor - feel really nervous!

Amy, are you imparting a Statement of an Interesting Nature?

How about calling you a "seasoned" hootooer?
I remember you from before, but not in the Atelier. I think I've only been in here for a bit under 5 years, but on H2G2 for 10.

If someone were to shout "SPROUTS" I wouldn't make the connection to Brussels. I'd think of sprouts that you put on sandwiches or in wraps, like alfalfa, or mung bean, or radish sprouts.

Posted 4 Hours Ago by Hypatia (Keeping It Under 30) Ah shucks, SC.
I have finalized my schedule for the winter/spring major exhibits. Once again all ideas are greatly appreciated. We are doing Ancient Egyptian Art the first week of February; Native American Art the first week of March; the Civil War April 12-17 and Diego Rivera May 3-7. I'll be doing art contests, music and dance, etc. Same general format as last year.
It's a full year away, but we are getting a Smithsonian traveling exhibit for 6 weeks in January of 2011. That's exciting.

Posted 4 Hours Ago by imp-of-the-perverse Try an English Christmas!!! I promise no one would make you eat brussel sprouts! They are only a fairly recent thing, like turkey and fir trees - probably Victorian I would guess. My English Christmas lunch is roasted pheasant with a redcurrant gravy, roasted root vegetables (with garlic and thyme)with braised leeks - maybe pureed jerusalem artichokes - all local, all seasonal - and, I can go to the pub with my friends first

Posted 2 Hours Ago by Br. magwitch - addef addysgwr currently playing Left 4 Dead 2. Talking of sprouts, have told y'all about our accidental (but now universal) signal for sprouts? It's the extended middle finger. Long story, very accidental
I rather like sprouts, though, as does everybody else who uses the universal symbol.

Posted 2 Hours Ago by Hypatia (Keeping It Under 30) FG, it is called "Journey Stories". It's about the immigrant experience, but not just the Ellis Island type of immigrant. It encourages people to share their family stories and their personal life stories. Let's pick on MR. She would recount how she went from a kid in Missouri to California with all of the stops in between.
http://oecexhibits.si.edu/blog/2008/05/journeying-with.html
Why we are where we are and how the journey itself shapes and defines us.
It is in Miami, Oklahoma right now and will be in the Branson area also before it gets to Webb City. So we'll be able to visit the exhibits there and get ideas about setting it all up. It will be at the library but is so-sponsored by the historical society and genealogical society.

I'm impressed! What type of exhibit will it be, Hyp?
For the record, I love Brussels sprouts sauted slowly in butter and sprinkled with seasoned pepper -- and they stay quite hot! Yum.

That is a phrase you would say at 1506 on Christmas day after eating a full Xmas dinner with all the trimmings . Think Mr Creosote from 'The meaning of life'
