Posted Mar 1, 2000 by Beeblefish Wonderful article lil! Wonderful editing John the Gardener!
But . . .
Where is the picture?
Guide entries are neccesarily third person, so our little Asterlil didnt mention that she herself has been working at digitally restoring the only true image of Billy! Her work is fantastic and is in the running for the cover of (I believe) True West magazine.
I have a copy, but it is not my intellectual property so I wont post a link to it here, but lil -- I think you should!
The article builds up to it so nicely.
In fact -- why is it not there in the article. Okay, yes consistancy of Guide pictures and yes yadayada -- but there are exceptions!
We want the Bill! We want the Bill!
~Beeblefish (Looking at his copy -- well done!)

Very flattering. I thanks yew, Billy thanks yew ...
I would really like to do an entry just about the tintype itself, but as all the people I have bragged to know, the research/reconstruction material is in the hands of True West magazine, and I am not wholly certain which way they are going to jump with it.
I will have to go generate a jpg and see how big the image would be. I could offer a b&w print of the original, but it might need 700K to be worth using as an object of historical revelations... The reconstruction is circulating privately until after True West makes up its mind.
