Posted May 24, 2002 by Researcher 195109 Interesting intro to doodle analysis. What are your sources? I'd like to learn more. Some analyses don't ring true, for me. For example: doodling signatures. Rather than a way for newlyweds to reassure themselves of their identity, couldn't this just be rather superficial writing practice? After women adopt a new surname, their hands simply have to adjust to signing a new name naturally and fluidly. They've had years of practice signing their first name. As a newlywed, they want to practice writing their new surname so that it matches the practiced strokes of their first name. This is a simple, basically aesthetic argument: women want their signatures to look coherent.
