Just the star names? I agree that things like The Theta Carinae Cluster should be capitalised on the Greek name.

Curator Discussion: Capitalisation of Star Titles

erm ? Your original posting was:

<<I think that stars' Bayer designations such as Eta Carinae, Tau Ceti, etc should be capitalised on both words. This is the normal practice in every website and every book on the subject I've seen.
Anybody any objections if I go through the Guide fixing all these?>>

<<I would prefer to go with the lower-case form is because it is easier to read and it is more in keeping with Bayer having used the lower-case Greek letter, which has a certain continuity. There is also, that I have always regarded the letter/constellation as more of a classification than a ‘proper’ name. Whereas, if you take it as a proper name, then upper-case > Alpha Centauri < would be more correct. >>

Alpha Centauri isn't a proper name, that's Rigel Centaurus, but I understood what he meant.

Ergo, the "Theta Carinae Cluster" which *is* a proper name, should be capitalised.
