Hi all smiley

Just out of interest are you allowed to edit a submission by another? or must you contact them and ask / advise them of the mistakes and correct info.

Mike.

Hello Mike, and welcome to h2g2. smiley

You can't edit anything else than an entry written by yourself. If you've found a mistake in an edited entry, please post this to feedback-editorial, giving the Anumber and title of the entry in the subjectline, starting it with EF:...

If it is an unedited entry, there's nothing you or anybody else can do about it.

I've left you a welcome message on your PS, it should answer your questions, I hope.

Bel

You'd have to send an email to h2g2editorial, we can't add photos to the site ourselves. The eds will then decide whether or not to exchange or add a photo.
The usual way to have a photo added to an Edited Guide Entry, is via the h2g2 Photographers, though.

If you join the photographers, you'll get access to their Yahoo group, where you'll get your own folder to which you upload your photos. Mind, there are strict rules to consider: any contribution must be your own, meaning that you own the copyright for it. If it is chosen and added to an entry, the BBC has the right to use it for other relevant things. Same goes for entries you write.

Hi Bel,

Welcome to HooToo, Mike smiley

The photo added to the Guide Entry is one found by the Italics (staff), it may be possible to offer another, better, one via the photographer's club.

Mike, you will find that Matt has already approached Edited Feedback on your behalf ok

lil xx

Ok i could be being really dense and it has been know to happen on a large scale smiley

I have been talking to "Uncle Travelling Matt (the Hoopy)" and he is going to edit some of the information for me that is incorrect, hes been very helpful.

The bit im not sure / could be missing the very big point lol is the image on the page is not a eurasier its a chow and id like if possible to maybe alter it so that readers get to see a true eurasier.

if this is possible at all?

You must be looking at a cached version of the entry. It first had a Chow-Chow picture (and it stated it was a chow-chow), but that was exchanged with a picture of a Eurasier Dog shortly afterwards. ok

We are always here to better the Guide biggrin

If you have a better picture, then I'm sure every effort will be made to accommodate it.

Oh, I seem to recall that the wner of the dog sent in a few photos for choice, and this one was chosen by thje eds. Personally, I think it's a lovely photo, it reflects the personality of the dog. If I wanted to know how they're built, then there are lost of websites, I'm sure. smiley

Still, it was the right thing of you to ask. ok

Sorry, I competely missed your post. If you want to join the photographers group, you'd best leave them a message here:

or start a new conversation at the bottom of that page. Somebody will then be around and give you instructions what to do. ok
