Einstein Versus Postmodernism
Post: 1
Posted Sep 30, 2005 by longshotlove
people who have ivested themselves in a major falsehood tend to start laughing -- fakely -- in an attempt to belittle the truth -- when the klie they have lived is exposed. in the case of "post modernism' i am glad t hear their emoty fake laughter -- as they wil no doubt laugh hollowly, like American rich politicians pretending someone told a classic routine when you say "campaign finace reform."

postmodernism is an empty, illogical term. time is always surging, surging. when the term 'postmodern' was first used -- perhaps it was a low minded attempt to marginalize that which was called 'modern art' whenever that was. (1978? Later?)

if i say my art is post modern in 1957 -- in 1972 it is objectively no loger modern compared to what is going on NOW.

it's logic. and hat occurs? art become sold dry preictable and people appear -- like the Stuckites or their predecesors, teh dadists, and reject with statements (like this one) boring pretendtious and non-innovative, staid and trite gallry commodification of art.
Since chronological, linear time keeps moving forward -- to call something post modern now is to doom it to its being old and representative of the past in five years or so.

linear time is almost illusory. OBVIOUSLY Dali is closer to Modern now than Michaelangelo or Titian -- but in a hundred years it will be much harder to call Dali 'modern' art.

as an experiment -- in this test of einstein's genius versus the pretentiousnessof most commodifiyingly greedy "F.Artisans" --

make a piece.
label it 'post modern'
put it in a box. seal it for ten years.

then in ten years take it out.

is it still modern?

if you do this with ALL your work, you may save the world some time.

and you know,
time is money.

a loving message from the persistance of memory
