As someone who has spent 50 years buying, selling, and rebuilding almost any type of piano you wish to mention, I find it quite irresponsible of those who set themselves up as experts to advise others how to buy a piano, when they may have such a meagre knowledge of the subject.
I have just read a piece on this website which is one of the best I've seen, but one must be careful not to generalise. Just because the two Brasted brothers produced so many minipianos under the Eavestaff banner does not justify one to write off all pianos with the Eavestaff name.If buyers want small pianos, they will buy them. A great many Eavestaff Minipianos were sold, but they became too expensive to produce. The proprietor told me that.
I know that writers are told to write 500 words about a particular subject, so they mug up and produce the works. Books are useful, but but not always reliable. Few piano books have been written by really knowledgeable writers. Probably because there is little money in it.
