Posted Sep 23, 1999 by kats-eyes (psychically confirmed caffeine addict) very yummy article, this was. i heard german soldiers used dried and powdered roaches as an coffeesubstitute in africa in WW2... could be an urban legend though. and the best possibility i found to kill a cockroach was to by a bottle hairspray, point it to the beast and put a flame to it... stinks awfully... and take care of your hair *ugh*

Posted Sep 23, 1999 by Researcher 80751 The real trick (as with all coffee) is to warm the roach first, before you put the hot water in.

Posted Sep 24, 1999 by Peta I heard a story that (I think it was, but do correct me if I am wrong) Evelyn Waugh went to his men's club with a selection of crunchy african delicacies that had been given to him.
He shared them with the members, although he didn't eat any himself. When they had eaten them all, he announced that they were actually just deep fried cockroaches, that he had cooked himself that morning.
Urgh!

Posted Sep 24, 1999 by kats-eyes (psychically confirmed caffeine addict) sounds like one of those "you just ate dog-food-stew" stories... but I'm happy not to be one of Evelyn Waughs pals

Posted Sep 27, 1999 by kats-eyes (psychically confirmed caffeine addict) they aren't low in fat!! The internals of a cockroach consist almost entirely of disgusting, smelly, icky fat! I had to disect one of the buggers... and change the clothes afterwards!
