Bonsai is an extreme form of horticultural BDSM. The gardener removes the plant, ordinarily a very young, impressionable tree, from its cozy pot and clips roots. Ow! The gardener (or Dom) then tucks the plant back into its pot with very rich soil and proceeds to the next part of the torture - deforming the plant by binding its limbs with wires.
The gardener may publicly display and even win prizes for his stunted, twisted - and now, entirely dependent - plant at a gardening show.

That is something I hadn't thought of! I wonder if it can be done to people.
