Posted Sep 15, 1999 by Researcher 54456, Thong Yes yes yes.. Mp3.com is an awesome resource for people looking for new music on the web, or looking to get their music recognized and circulated. As Jules says musicians can also make money through DAM CD sales which is a CD made by MP3.com with mp3s and redbook audio (regular cd audio) on it. The Musician choose the price to sell it at (within a price range up to 15$US) on Mp3.com, and gets half the profits.
I have two sections on the site.. one for my band Last Great Day (http://www.lastgreatday.com) at http://www.mp3.com/lastgreatday, and one for my own electronic music (a project with a freind called Flamable Spandex Water Rats) at http://www.mp3.com/waterrats.
Great Resource!
Tony

Posted Oct 17, 1999 by Eli (97684) Although MP3.com has the best brand-recognition, I always thought it kinda sucked. Plenty of other sites that offer more benefits and services to artists (i.e. a bigger cut of the $$).
