Posted Jul 6, 2009 by JonSch The song "Who will Buy" is directly (note from note) Vaughn Williams opera "Hugh the Drover" ... "who will but my sweet primroses". It is also set in a London Street market. As in Oliver, the flower seller is joined by other traders - creating a brilliant chorus.

Posted 3 Weeks Ago by JonSch Correct - I had the pleasure of singing this piece in the chorus (when I was much younger) of Vaughan Williams "Hugh The Drover" with the Leicester Youth Choir.

Posted 3 Weeks Ago by BB Does anyone remember a brilliant Smith & Jones parody of this song, just after Canary Wharf tower opened and no-one would shell out for the exorbitant office space?
"Who will buy....this bloody great building"
I seem to be the only one who does.
