Please could you add the following dates, from mu University Project, whose front cover is at A2699363)

31 March, 1811. Birth of Robert Bunsen, one of the world's greatest and best known scientists due to the eponymous Bunsen burner.

08 April, 1818. Birth of von Hofmann. German chemist whose work led to the establishment of the coal tar and dye-stuff industries.

12 May, 1803. Birthof Justus von Liebig, German chemist and founder of Agricultural Chemistry.

31 July, 1800. Birth of Friedrich Wohler, German chemist and the first person to synthesise an organic compound (urea) from an inorganic source.

02 August, 1788. Birth of Leopold Gmelin. 19th Century German chemist, most noted for his Handbuch der Chemie, in which he compiled and organised the principles of chemistry as known at the time.

20 August 1917. Death of von Baeyer, one of Germany's foremost 19th Century organic chemists, who elucidated the structure of indigo blue, thus preparng the way for the commercial dye-stuffs industry.



07 September, 1829. Birth of August Kekule. German chemist who elucidated the tautomeric (dynamic) ring structure of benzene.
