I'm sure it has more meaning than the word "Thing"...

Posted Nov 23, 2004 by Narapoia So unoriginal. Can't think of an original thing to campaign for, so has to start an anti-campaign, then proves his ineptness with a series of pathetic and rather sad attempts at humour. Give up now before it gets REALLY humiliating! You ain't gonna convert any Thingites, you've chosen a piece of cutlery no-one's ever heard of as your campaign hardware, your "campaign" will only serve to alert non-Thingites to join our noble cause and you're 69,000+ posts behind us!

So what.
It's not an anti-campaign... You're the ones who are anti-Thursday.
Please provide me with a more "acceptable" retort to the completely unoriginal "can you hear something?" put-down...
I will never give up.
My aim is not to convert Thingites, but to irritate them repeatedly.
Plenty of people have heard of kiwi spoons - How else do you eat a kiwi?
I really don't care how many posts you have to your conversation - most of it is useless twaddle...

PS REALLY humiliating?
What? More humiliating than being a Thingite?

Posted Nov 23, 2004 by Narapoia No, it's just that I am doing an incredibly boring job (scanning photos of buildings my company's built, should you be at all interested) and all I have to keep me awake is this quaint little conversation!

I hate scanning - I have the second most archaic flatbed scanner in the world (bought second hand of course) and I have to scan pictures of various medicine related stuff to use for coursework.
I've tried to attract some attention to this thread by placing a link to it on the Campaign page.

Posted Nov 23, 2004 by bubba-fretts How many millions planet wide refer to 'that day' as thursday, happily refer to it as thursay. If they can be mobilised...

Posted Nov 23, 2004 by Narapoia Might attract more attention if we put an ad on the Manifesto page!

If you search for "Thursday" in the h2g2 search box (yes, go on, try it now - I'll hang around and wait for you...) then our Member List comes way above the Thingite Manifesto.
I've also applied to have the Campaign added to the list of clubs and societies. We just need time - that's all.
PS You weren't actually serious about putting an ad there, were you?

So? - there are 60 million people in the UK alone, and a very large percentage of them say "Thursday", not "Thing". They would therefore use the word Thursday to search for Thursday related societies...
