Posted Feb 4, 2005 by Dr Zen now with PhD Funding. I did like this entry .. I've read the book but don't know an awful lot more about it. I like the writing style and the amount of information.

Posted Feb 4, 2005 by Emmily ~ Deathlist 2010 - A60038552 .../I'm not stalking you. I only follow people I find interesting. Hi Seagull's Lost Horizon I enjoyed reading this, it's interesting and informative.
A few minor points
From 1st paragraph under project header-
detyailing ~~> detailing
1st November 1985. ~~> 1 November, 1985.
>I’d like to go here...’, ‘Well I’d like to go here...’, ‘OK, so lets go here...’. ~~> I think you'll need to delete those ... and other...s, but wait for someone else to confirm
thirty minute episodes ~~> 30 minute episodes (wait for someone to confirm again )
Another 5 episode ~~> Another five episode
(11th October 1989) ~~> (11 October, 1989)
(11th October 1989) ~~> (11 October, 1989)
(18th October 1989) ~~> (18 October, 1989) etc for other dates
Good luck Seagull's Lost Horizon

Posted Feb 5, 2005 by Sho (I can't be asked) I love this book, in fact I have it on my reading list for this year (I was lucky enough to get a hardback copy when it came out)
A few wee points about the entry:
section begining " where it all began"
>>In arriving in Madagascar << sounds weird, I think it should be >>on arrival in Madagascar<<
>>Whilst talking to Mark the next day, he told him about a whole host of other endangered and possibly extinct animals<<
I can see what you want to say (I think) but it is very muddled. How about keeping it simple "The next day Mark told him about a whole host of other endangered and possibly extinct animals"?
Actually, since I think this is stuff the sub-ed will sort out I'll stop now and say that I can't wait to see this on the front page.
Hasn't there been a huge improvement in the situation of the Kakapo parrot?

Posted Feb 5, 2005 by Rich [?] - Cavaliers Batsman of the Year 2009! Great entry!
All I would suggest is a change of the title, perhaps to 'Last Chance To See', by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine? And possibly a brief update by each chapter mentioning any changes regarding the species, as Sho hints at. For example, since the book was written, have the dolphins made any kind of recovery or are they now extinct? Just one line would cover it.
Good work, and am amazed no-one thought to write an entry on this before....

Posted Feb 6, 2005 by Jimi X I'll admit to a feeling of great dread when I saw the title of this entry, but you pulled it off brilliantly!
I would agree to the need of a smal title change as suggested above. But all in all, this is a great effort!

Posted Feb 6, 2005 by Milos Weren't there also some animals covered in the book that weren't included in the radio series? I recall chapters on the White Rhino and the Silverback Gorilla. Seems there were about a dozen animals in the book.
You might mention that the hardcover has colour pics, too, instead of B & W like the paperback.
