Posted Jun 24, 2004 by Smij Good, eh? The Homepage team has been brilliant about this, as they only got very short notice about the comp and worked hard to give us a slot this week, before it ends.

Posted Jun 24, 2004 by Frankie Roberto Nice homepage promo! I just saw it. I hope it helps boost entries to the competition (though there's only a day to go, eek). Where did the space photo come from?

Without giving specific details out, that one promo has resulted in over six times as many entries coming into our folder today as we've received all week. Great success (and the team here has looked at every single one so far and we're all greatly impressed).

Posted Jun 28, 2004 by Ancient Brit Doesn't this indicate that had 'Book of the Future' been launched under the h2g2 banner it would have had equal support and that DNA Sites would be equally well supported if launched under a collective DNA community with a single DNA banner that is fully supported/promoted by the BBC.

Posted Jun 28, 2004 by Frankie Roberto Ancient Brit, I think you've misunderstood and confused things yet again. It would be silly for all those sites to be run under the same name/banner, as they have different purposes, different staff running them, and different intended audiences and communities. DNA is simply the name for the software which runs the sites, it isn't some super-structureor 'parent' site.
Book of the Future DID get homepage promos (lots of 'em), and so have many of the other DNA-powered sites.
It's the content that's important, not the platform!

Posted Jun 28, 2004 by Ancient Brit Frankie - No confusion. You just miss the whole point of my rant - yet again. It's the community that's important and IMHO it's a 'collective' DNA site that is needed, utilising the BBC Community Website Engine as the 'connector'.
