SBS, the national multi-cultural broadcaster has been showing the B/W version for a number of years.

Here in Adelaide, with the large German community, the show is well loved

Amazing to me is that I never heard about this custom in Germany and so many other European countries. I have been living in the USA since 1965
and traveled extensively, and on a regular basis, to Germany and other countries and yet,my God, nobody ever mentioned this fixation on this
English Play to me.And what a history goes with it, it seems. I am glad
I finally learn something everybody else is aware of since a long time.
where have I been?bubbly
