A great book for beginning knitters

My boyfriend got me Stitch'nBitch, this great knitting book, for Christmas this year. I had never knitted before and now I can't seem to be able to stop! I recommend it to any beginner. It is full of funky fun ideas (not your Granny/Auntie Jumpers). I am going to try the Illusion Alien scarf today, or maybe the Monkey Backpack...so many options!

"Illusion Alien scarf" laugh - the mind boggles!

Certainly knitting really needs to shake off it's 'old biddy' association. As you say, it isn't just hideous jumpers and cardies you can make!
