What´s the wierdest dream you´ve ever had???

Yours was an interesting dream, full of family dynamics. Have u tried going horse riding. Just a thought. Was the horse freaked? All that energy in an enclosed domestic situation spells bottled up emotions to me, I may be wrong. Try in your imagination to take an active part in guiding the horse outdoors into green fields where it will be happier. bye.

Spoken like a true reductionist. u onviously haven't grasped the artistry and intelligence of dreams. If you are serious about using a less rigid way of looking at dreams I can recommend a few books. Up to u.

Your dream has similar mythological features to the trickster archetype in modern day guise. If you don't know what I mean then check out Grimm's fairy tale "The Spirit in the Bottle." This might shed some light (or darkness cos dreams tend to be paradoxical just like Hermes) on the characterisation and perhaps give clues as to what you need to do to keep the immortal Cape Crusader ("Batman" = an underworld image par excellence)in the bottle. I have a sense that a deal must be struck after some careful negotiations with this recurring figure.

Mind if I jump into this? Weirdest dream I ever had was when I was a kid. And by weird I mean WEIRD. My sister and her friends were putting on a ballet in my grandmother's front yard and a 50 foot tall Smokey the Bear started rampaging through my grandmother's neighborhood. Then I woke up. Other than that, I can understand precognitive dreams. I've had several over the years, but never about anything major. Just about working where I work now and having this conversation at such and such time with someone I'd never met. Then when it happens I keep thinking "Did I really need to know about this in advance??".

I didn't think the horse seemed freaked but it was a pretty short dream! What you said about taking the horse to a place where it would be happier sounds like lucid dreaming, ie being aware that you're dreaming and changing the direction the dream takes (very useful when having a nightmare I guess). Have you ever done that?

(I had this dream a long time ago, but still remember it vividly). Some friends and I were walking along a farm road near my childhood home. We came across a woman and her daughter standing in the ditch to the side; they were made of china, and were dressed in Victorian clothes. The china-daughter's foot had broken off; the china-mother asked us to help find it. My friends and I searched all over the fields and in the hedgerows nearby, and found many different china feet (great big boots, tiny baby bootees etc) but we couldn't find one that fit the break exactly. The china pair were disappointed, but thanked us for our trouble.

No, rather than manipulating dream images (which serves no purpose & i'm no advocate of lucid dreaming whatever that means), I'm suggesting moving the dream on through Jung's technique of active imagination. this is a technique for exploring the unconscious mind = the home of dreams.Put simply, active imagination is akin to conscious daydreaming, really entering a fantasy and following it through to its completion. It can take the form of writing, painting, sculpting, dancing, or even talking out loud to oneself. It simply giving form, giving expression in outer reality of an inner image that enters the mind following a period of emptying the mind of trains of conscious thought. To achieve this one needs to take a serious attitude to dream contents and to seeking meaning. Done in the right way it can have quite a transformative effect on recurring images particularly ones that have yet to be addressed consciously by the ego. Does this make sense?
